Our Partridge-Less Pear Tree

The most impressive thing in our back garden (pre-FiMBY) is this espaliered pear tree:

Obviously we’re not responsible for creating this; it’s decades old. But it’s gorgeous. It really commands the back and acts as a visual divide for the two sections of the back garden. I love it, but I was really surprised to realise that I didn’t have any good photos of it up on Flickr – just close-ups and in the background of photos of Lottie and Snuva. So I’ll take photos of it in its various stages this year. Above you can see the bare branches in the dead of winter – which I rather like as you can see its structure.  (If you click through to Flickr, there are a couple other photos at different angles).  I’ll try to get a few more photos as I’m not completely happy with these, but it’s a start.

Look forward to seeing it in spring:

And in fruit:

Hmm. . .maybe I need to make a mosaic partridge.
