Well I’ve started the process of creative destruction! There are several scraggly shrubs and lots of feral blackberries in the main space we have for the veggie patch, so over the weekend I started cutting things down and using the mattock to hack out roots.

The second photo is a bit deceptive as the pile of cuttings makes it hard to tell how much has actually been cut out. The husband’s ankle is doing much better but still isn’t great, so he stayed away from destroying things in the garden. I REALLY don’t want him to re-injure it! So I left him plenty to do next weekend. 😉
